FLORIDA MORTGAGE BROKER 14 HOUR CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:

As of 12/28/07 the 14 hour CE course is temporarily unavailable to new students, pending some content changes being made to meet new Florida requirements.

WHO MUST COMPLETE FLORIDA MORTGAGE LICENSE 14 HOUR CONTINUING EDUCATION BEFORE AUGUST 31ST

I. MB Mortgage Broker Licensees:

If your current license is your first license (this means it was issued on or after September 1, 2005), you are exempt from the 14 hour requirement. You need not complete the CE until your license renewal for 9/1/09. Your original 24 hour classroom course covers the requirement at the first renewal.

If your original license was issued prior to September 1, 2005, you must complete the 14 hours between 9/1/05 and 8/31/07 in order to renew your license for 9/1/07.

II. Unlicensed W-2 employee Loan Originators working for ML Mortgage Lender or CL Correspondent Lender (you cannot work for a MBB Mortgage Brokerage Business without a MB License):

You are required to complete the 14 Hour CE, the same as a licensed MB. However, your 2 year time period coincides with your employer’s ML or CL license tenure, which renews on 9/1/08. You may do the work and receive certification anytime in the 24 months prior to 9/1/08.

III. Principal Representatives of ML and CL, who completed the 24 hour classroom course between 9/1/06 and 9/1/08 will not need to complete the CE until renewal for 9/1/10. Again, all other unlicensed W-2 employee Loan Originators are not exempt.
